The main objective of the course was to know the forest avifauna of the Mediterranean forest, as well as disclose the basics of scientific bird ringing. To do this, experts gave talks ornithologists, reconnaissance sorties and fishing practices and bird banding.
Mario de los Reyes, course organizer and project manager Nida said it also is teaching participants to build nest boxes to encourage the breeding of birds.
Before the conference were installed in the vicinity of the Borril 18 nesting boxes, of which 80% were employed, with an average of six chickens per box. Among the species that have used these artificial nests include the Eurasian tree sparrow, or coal tits.
